KRUTZ KRUPP MALBEC 2007

The Krupp vineyard is on a high slope in Napa Valley's eastern hills. It is strewn with rocks and choked with chaparral, straddling Atlas Peak and Pritchard Hill. Here the cool nights, and well-drained soils provide a longer, fuller growing season for early-ripening Malbec. The wine is then aged for 20 months in 50% new French oak and 50% Seguin-Moreau Cabernet Selection & Special Rouge. The result is a stunning aromatic of sweet cherry, ripe blueberry jam, and mint spice. The palate is meaty, but beautifully polished with raspberries, lavender, and vanilla.
