LOAM SUTHER CABERNET SAUVIGNON

2006 Sonoma County
This Sonoma County wine is named for the soil in which the grapes grow. Loam being the typical Californian wine valley soil and Suther being the variety that occurs on side slopes of mountains underlain by sandstone and shale. A product of its surroundings, Suther single soil wine is characterized by high elevation, extreme slope, shallow soils, and exceptional drainage. This vintage was aged for 26 months in French oak and evokes ripe cherry fruit on the nose, accented by hints of mineral and sweet oak. Combining power and finesse, the tannins are silky and rich. Perfectly balanced, this Cabernet will be most enjoyable from 2011-2018.
