EMPEROR NORTON ABSINTHE DIEU

Emperor Norton was a San Francisco character who lived in the late 1800s. A businessman, he lost his fortune as a relatively young man and took to living on the streets. In time, he took to wearing a half Union, half Confederate uniform, proclaimed himself Emperor Norton I of the US and began producing his own currency. The local shop owners were so fond of him they accepted it and he became known throughout the city by his self proclaimed title. This absinthe is made on Treasure Island, a small, man-made piece of land in the San Francisco Bay. Calfornia grape brandy forms the base and the infusion is light and savory.
