TALISKER MALT 10 YEAR
"The King of drinks as I conceive it, Talisker, Islay or Glenlivit." The words of Robert Louis Stevenson, a lover of fine Scotch and a Talisker enthusiast. Made on the Isle of Skye, in the lee of Cnoc-nan-Speireag-Hawkhill, near the village of Carbost, Talisker has been revered since its inception in 1843. It is the only distillery on the island and takes its name from a farm some miles away. In the 1920s it was bought by United Distillers and in 1988/89, they chose it for their Classic Malts series. Most Talisker malts are made in small, severely limited batches but the 10-year, which is bottled off-site, is in greater supply. Sweet heather on the nose with typical Scotch earthy peat and a hint of peppermint. The medium body is rich in flavor with a sweet and spicy palate and a long smooth finish evoking black pepper and smoked peat.
