SLANE CASTLE IRISH
Out of Stock
Slane Castle Irish Whiskey is now available in the United States and Ireland. Slane Castle Irish Whiskey has been specially created for Henry, the Eighth Marquess Conyngham, head of the Conyngham family that, since 1701, have lived in Slane Castle by the banks of the mystical river Boyne which flows beneath the famous Hill of Slane where St. Patrick lit his paschal fire. This unique Whiskey blend has been distilled by the nearby Cooley Distillery, which won the European and World Distiller of the Year at the 2008 International Wine and Spirit Competition. It is a well balanced blend of malt and grain Irish Whiskey which has been aged and matured for at least four years in American oak barrels that previously matured Bourbon. In the traditional Irish style, the malt whiskey is distilled in copper pot stills and no peated malt is used. Both the malt content and the type of wood used for maturation give this product its sweetness and depth of character. Slane Castle is very much a family affair and the Marquessâ??s son, Alexander, The Earl of Mount Charles, is also intimately involved in the family business. With his previous experience working for Irish Distillers, Alexander played a key role in the creation of Slane Castle Irish Whiskey, reflecting the familyâ??s long standing passion for 'Uisce Beatha.'
