PIMMS CUP #1
Since the early 1800s London city gents have enjoyed downing oysters and gin. But in the early days gin was a bitter drink, to be knocked back rather than savored. It was James Pimm, a shellfish monger, who introduced this famous drink at his oyster bar in 1823. Flavored with liqueurs and fruit extract, it provided a more palatable and pleasing experience for the London elite and it quickly spread. Today it is a world-renowned drink. The #1 Cup was the original Pimm's creation.
