Located deep in the Scottish Highlands, the Dalmore distillery uses barley from the rich coastal soils of the Black Isle and the whisky is created on the sea-sodden shores of Cromarty. The 15-year spent its first 13 years inn American bourbon casks before finishing in a combination of Matusalem, Apostoles and Amoroso sherry butts. Finally, the whisky is married once again in sherry butts for the final year of maturation. The result is a complex whisky with a nose of raisins, mandarin, chocolate and prunes. On the tongue is clementine, ginger, coffee and Christmas cake with a finish of citrus, vanilla and ginger.
