This brand goes all the way back to the origins of American alcohol distillation in the mid 1700s.
Michter's even boasts that General Washington's troops downed glasses of their whiskey (presumably rye in those days) at Valley Forge and it remains a favorite to this day.
In terms of tasting, this bourbon has a distinct warmth on the palate and carries explosive flavors with a full body and clouds of smoked
wood in the hard to reach areas at the back of the mouth.
The finish is long and warm until a sweetness takes over.
Like most American whiskey Michter's is based in Kentucky. It is made in limited quantities.
It is barreled at a lower proof and aged in heat-cycled warehouses to enhance the smooth, rich flavors.
