BENEDICTINE 750 ML

D.O.M. stands for Deo Optimo Maximo which means - To God most good, most great. More than 500 years ago the Benedictine Monks at Fecamp on the coast of Normandy, France began making their world famous liqueurs using 27 herbs and spices. The monastery was destroyed during the French revolution and Benedictine has since been produced by Alexandre le Grand. Don Bernado Vincelli originally designed the 'elixir' to sustain the monks in their work, and as a probably useless defence against malaria. It might do nothing for malaria but it has a pronounced and complex aroma offering a wealth of spice and fruit. Cloves, cardamorn and licorice mingle with honey, butterscotch, prune and orange. On the palate there is a robust herbal and spicy flavor and a pleasing, balanced sweetness.
